As with all promises, the one of a new video I made 3 weeks ago was late and half hearted.
In our latest drunkened escapade, we found ourselves in Vegas. The trip included two out of the follow five things: strip clubs, hookers, blow, midgets wearing wind breakers being flown as human kites, and booze.

I remember when Santa Con used to be cool. It was like a secret club that only the cool kids knew about. Last week was a fucking shit show of bros fighting and hoes being hoes.
First bar we went to at 11am we were turned away because they already had a bro fight. The next bar was jammed. Everyone was literally just ordering shots. In the 30 minutes we were there getting food, 5 people were kicked out. There was ‘that girl’ that was all like ‘I need to like, go back in, cause like, omg all my friends are in there! How could you, like, do this to me?’ All at 11am.
We walked around for awhile just trying to find a dive bar to relax in, but there was nothing. We just said said fuck it and went home with a bottle of peppermint schnapps.
We have a power hour video coming out this weekend, so look for it.

Heather hides her beer in a meat strip bag while waiting for the NYC MTA train to come and end a night that should have been over 3 hours before this was filmed.
Can I get a Like for meat?

This is an epic weekend for me and Matt - not only is it Halloween (and trust me - our costumes will be awesome) - but we’re also going to be joining the Brink of Sanity podcast, broadcasting from Astoria on Friday night (this is good, since Matt has a face for radio).
Between now and tomorrow night, Matt and I will be determining some discussion topics that we’d like to bring to the broadcast, which may or may not include the following:

While we both have a very clear standout winner for “The Crawler’s Log’s Favorite Bar in Mahnattan” (love you, Botanica!), it’s becoming more and more clear that our standout winner a bit closer to home (read: Crown Heights, Brooklyn) is Franklin Park.
Located conveniently on St. John’s Pl betweetn Franklin and Classon Aves in Crown Heights, Franklin Park is just cool. It opens up from the back of the Dutch Boy Burger restaurant (they have root beer floats, people!); Franklin Park even shares the kitchen (which means yummy late-night beer fueled food - their fries are awesome).
There are two main bars (one of which is only open at night), connected by an outdoor/patio space with picnic tables. They have a decent beer selection (which is continually changing with the seasons) and a really good happy hour.
In short, it’s our go-to in the hood.
